the monumental quality of the everyday

The Hejduk Towers and the City of Culture Building represent institutional architecture, emphasizing their monumentality and scale. The installation contrasts these characteristics with Galician domesticity, inspired by the traditional palloza, and draws a parallel between the towers and Hejduk's theory of duality, symbolizing the lar (living room) and the alcoba (bedroom).

Formally, the proposal uses two circles to represent these spaces, exploring the relationship between public and private, inviting reflection on institutional and domestic architecture.
